Basic Essay Typing Directions

1.    Create a new Google doc. Name it Last Name Sin Essay. For example, my doc would be called Kline Sin Essay.
2.    Select Times New Roman as the font. Set the font size to 12. Click on “Format,” then “Line Spacing,” then “Double” to double space your work. Poetry should be single spaced unless there is a structural reason for it to be double spaced.
3.    In the upper left hand corner, type your name, my name, the name of your class, and the date. Capitalize your name and the month. It should look like the header on the top of this page.
4.    Share your Google doc with me and only me. My e-mail is ed.kline@orecity.k12.or.us
5.    Center the title. The first letter of each word should be capitalized. Finish typing your work before you spend time thinking of a title.
6.    Hit return and use tab to indent your paragraphs. You do not need a blank line between paragraphs.
7.    Proofread. Spell check. Print.
8.    Staple your work in this order: Final Draft, Rough Draft, Three Openings, Seven Deadly Sins Outline
